Rahul Desraj Chahar is an Indian cricketer who plays domestic cricket for Rajasthan. In August of this year, he made his international debut for India. After witnessing his elder cousin brother Deepak Chahar play cricket, Rahul began playing at the age of eight. He began his career as a fast bowler before realising his true skill was in spinning the ball.
Rahul made the decision to forego his academics at an early age in order to focus only on cricket. He progressed well through age-group cricket and was eventually selected to represent India at the under-19 level. But being selected for the Rising Pune Supergiant in the IPL 2017 was his crowning achievement.
After that, he travelled to England with the under-19 squad and performed admirably, taking one of the most wickets on the trip. But it wasn’t enough to get him a ticket to the under-19 World Cup in New Zealand. For the multi-nation competition, he was put on standby. To make matters worse, he was injured for most of the domestic season in 2017-18. The Mumbai Indians have signed Rahul for the 2018 IPL season.
