Kane Richardson is a young potential fast bowler from Australia who can bowl quickly and move the ball around. He is the state representative for South Australia, where he was born. He was a member of Australia’s Under-19 World Cup squad in 2009/10, which featured Mitchell Marsh, Josh Hazlewood, Nic Maddinson, and Alister McDermott. Despite the fact that he did not participate in all of the games, he made an impression with bat and ball in his three appearances.
He took six wickets in the competition and also played an important role with the bat, scoring 44 times. The Adelaide Strikers signed him for the 2010-11 Big Bash League season, and he has played for them ever since.Richardson was chosen as Mitchell Starc’s substitute for the second ODI against Sri Lanka at the Adelaide Oval in 2013, and he only played the game, his maiden international for his country. He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals at the 2014 IPL auctions and also played for them in a few games. In October 2014, he made his T20I debut for Australia against Pakistan.
Given that he had generally depended on his variations most of the time in previous seasons, a great BBL season in which he got the ball to move considerably with the new ball provided him a big boost. Even if it was a last-minute substitute decision due to Jhye Richardson’s injury, his World Cup selection surprised him. Richardson’s ability to bowl at any stage of an innings makes him an asset to have in the shorter formats.
